He Will Settle You

I went for The African Summerfest today and it brought back some memories. About this time last year, I was heavily pregnant with my twins-Aimee and Josh.

I was just about 10 weeks pregnant when I attended the Summerfest and was so unsure of what the next 30 weeks would be or look like. Everyone including myself thought I would not have been able to manage. And so I began to worry how I was going to cope. But God who sees and knows our future had already settled me.

Oh I worried about everything and 95% of everything I worried about was just a waste of time. Who will help me? How will I cope? Its not just one baby but two! One is hard work, how much more two?

I also heard negative stories about twin pregnancies and that in itself gave birth to more worries. Will the pregnancy be ok?, will there be complications?, will I carry to term?, will the babies survive and be ok? Phew thinking back now I SMH at myself lol. What a worrywot!

Next round of worry how where we going to cope when the babies come? who will bathe them, etc? Who will help us? We obviously needed help. Well we prayed, we cast our cares on Him, we asked Him for the strength. 1 Peter 5:10 says 'But may the God of all Grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you!

Today the twins are almost 7 months and I give God praise because He has strengthened us, He has established us and settled us. Did I say it's been easy? No it hasn't been but that's where God's strength comes in. He gives you strength you never knew you had.His strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. Watch out for the full gist of my journey to the birth of the twins .

Worry has never and will never change the situation, it will only cause you distress!

Matthew 6: 25-34 says 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

  1. True talk. Usually we spend plenty of time worrying why certain things happen.

Quit worrying about things you have little control of and let the Almighty one take charge.
