‘This is the Day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it’- Psalm 118:24
But Lord how can I rejoice in this day when I am so tired. How can I rejoice when the issues and challenges are staring at me face?
Where do I find the strength to rejoice when my mum has been diagnosed of cancer and is needing treatment urgently? How can I rejoice in this day knowing that the bills are mounting up?
These and many more rhetoric questions go through our minds every other day. We are faced with different issues and challenges and sometimes cant find the strength to carry on. Some days seem worse than others and you literally feel the weight on your shoulders.
Well, I have had many of such days this week but I woke up this morning and was reminded of the scripture in Psalm 34:19 that says ‘Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. Did that verse just say all or some? Yes the Lord will deliver us from ALL.
Through it all I am learning to trust Him more, to give Him my cares and worries knowing that He cares for me. He is still God. He remains faithful and He will not give me more than I can bear.
Yes I have had one of those days but I am thanking God for His strength that is made perfect in my weakness.
So I declare that ‘ This is the day the Lord has made therefore I choose to rejoice in it.
