Remember Me Oh Lord!

Psalm 106:4 Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them.

Today I read this verse and was reminded of an incidence that happened recently. Back in February, a friend of mine promised to bake me a toffee cake, I kept looking forward to it and waiting for it, at a point I think I even teased her about it. Still I didn't get my cake. After about a month of waiting, I completely forgot about it and concluded within me that it was one of those promises that never get fulfilled. So I moved on.

In April, precisely 2 months after she promised, I received a call from her, I thought she was just phoning to say hello. But then she says to me 'Eloho come and pick your toffee cake'. Honestly when I heard those words, I wasn't just excited, but was surprised that she still remembered the promise she made. I screamed in excitement and said to her 'as you have remembered me so God will remember you'.

Lessons I learnt from this situation, firstly; God never forgets the promises He has made to us, He's mindful of us and will fulfill them in the right time. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says 'He makes everything beautiful in its time'.

Secondly, we need to let go and let God, He will do what He says He will do. We need to trust Him completely.

Thirdly, if a human being can remember a promise she made and fulfill it after 2 months, How much more our heavenly Father.

God will remember us for good. He will come through for us. No matter how long it takes He will definitely show up, as they say 'delay is not denial. So whatever promise we may be holding on to and looking unto to Him to fulfill, this is just to encourage us. He never fails.
